Many people use the terms “ultrasound” and “sonogram” interchangeably, but the two words actually refer to different parts of the same process. “Ultrasound” is the term used to describe the complete imaging process. A “sonogram” refers to the actual image that is created from the ultrasound process. The more you know!
Ultrasounds are totally noninvasive, so you won’t need to do any major prep work before we perform your ultrasound in Sioux City.
For the best results, you should drink a gallon of water per day for 3 days prior to your session. You may need some extra bathroom breaks, but it will also increase the amount of fluid around your baby, allowing us to get better pictures!

ALL ultrasounds come with: Pregnancy confirmation, listening to and measuring the baby’s heart rate, checking the positioning of the baby, printed photos, and access to all imaging and video via Momitalk app. *If you are 6 weeks or less in pregnancy, please note that you may be too early to see a heartbeat. Pregnancy confirmation can still be obtained!
The gender reveal is the only one that has a requirement that the pregnancy must be 14+ weeks along . That is because week 13 is when gender develops. Anytime Peace of Mind and Prime Time scans can be done ANYTIME throughout the pregnancy. It all depends if you want black-and-white imaging versus new technology.
