When you come to The Sonography Studio, you receive an ultrasound scan, and the keepsake photos or videos you leave with are sonograms.

Most sessions for prenatal ultrasound in Panama City don’t require any special preparation. That said, you can do a few simple things to improve your experience and image quality:

• Stay hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment, as amniotic fluid volume impacts the clarity of the pictures.
• Eat a small snack 15 to 20 minutes before your scan; sometimes a little sugar helps encourage your baby to move.
• Wear a two-piece outfit, so it’s easy to access your belly without you needing to fully change.

We’ll walk you through everything you need when you book, so you can relax and enjoy the session.

We begin offering gender reveal scans starting at 14 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, your baby’s anatomy has usually developed enough for us to clearly identify if they are male or female.

If you’d like to keep the surprise for a party or special reveal, we can seal the results in an envelope or share them with a trusted friend or baker. For the clearest images, we suggest scheduling between 14 and 20 weeks.

From there, you can choose your preferred package:

• Gender Reveal: Available from 14 weeks, with options for both basic and deluxe sessions.
• Prime Time Scans: 15–45 minutes of imaging in 2D through 5D, with optional BabyView AI for extra clarity.

Sometimes little ones are camera-shy. Factors like low amniotic fluid, anterior placenta placement, maternal BMI, or simply baby’s preferred position can make it tricky to capture the perfect shot. If that happens:

For Prime Time packages from 27 to 32 weeks, if only partial images (like an ear or the back of the head) are visible, you also qualify for a free return session.

No. Because our services are elective and designed for bonding and keepsake purposes, insurance does not cover them. However, you may be able to use an HSA or FSA card if your plan allows.

Absolutely! We encourage you to share this special moment. We designed our studio with comfortable seating so loved ones can join you during the scan. Many families bring partners, siblings, or even grandparents. Just let us know when you book if you’re planning for a larger group.

For the most detailed facial features, we recommend scheduling your prenatal ultrasound in Panama City between 27 and 32 weeks. Earlier scans are great for seeing movement and whole-body images, while later scans can provide incredible close-ups of the face.

Beyond 32 weeks, imaging may still be possible, but it depends heavily on baby’s position and space in the womb.
